Giants Stun Eagles in Primetime: Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo Shine

The New York Giants pulled off a thrilling upset against the Philadelphia Eagles, winning 34-17 in a primetime showdown at MetLife Stadium. Quarterback Jaxson Dart and running back Cam Skattebo led the charge, combining for four touchdowns and showcasing their impressive skills.

Dart, a rookie quarterback, completed 17 of 25 passes for 195 yards and a score, while adding another 58 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Skattebo, another young star, rushed for three scores and logged 110 yards from scrimmage on 21 touches.

The Giants’ dominant performance on the ground, led by Skattebo’s three touchdown runs, propelled them to victory. They edged the Eagles 25-20 in first downs and 366 to 339 in total yards, including a 172-73 advantage on the ground.

“We played hard,” Skattebo said in the post-game press conference. “Props to the guys up front for all the effort they gave me and this team. They battled to the end and that’s what matters.”

Dart echoed Skattebo’s sentiments, praising his teammates for their intensity and effort. “We hear what people say,” Dart said. “It definitely lights a fire in us. … I’m just really proud of how the guys played. We are just trying to set a standard of intensity here each and every day.”

The Eagles, on the other hand, struggled to find their rhythm. Quarterback Jalen Hurts completed 24 of 33 passes for 283 yards, but was intercepted once and lost a fumble on offense. Running back A.J. Dillon also lost a fumble, which didn’t help the Eagles’ cause.

The loss resulted in the Eagles’ first two-game losing streak since the 2023 season. They had won 20 of their previous 21 games, including their Super Bowl LIX title. The Eagles’ inability to score in the second halves of their last two games was a major concern, with them managing just seven points.

“I’ve got to be better,” Hurts said, taking responsibility for the loss. “I take ownership for it. A lot of autonomy and a lot of opportunity there with the ball in my hands. Given those situations, I have to be wiser and more detailed. … I see a lot of opportunity in this.”

The Giants’ victory marked a significant upset, with the Eagles entering the game as favorites. The win improves the Giants’ record to 2-4, while the Eagles fall to 3-3.
