LOS ANGELES tech news: Television icon Judith Sheindlin, universally known as “Judge Judy,” is returning to syndicated television in a new role behind the camera. CBS Media Ventures announced that Sheindlin’s son, former prosecutor Adam Levy, will headline his own solo court show, Adam’s Law, scheduled to launch in national syndication on September 14, 2026.
The new series marks a major shift for the daytime television landscape, attempting to recreate the high-ratings formula that made Judge Judy a 25-season cornerstone of American broadcasting.
From Prosecutor to Daytime Bench
Adam Levy brings a long legal background to the new venture. A graduate of Hofstra University School of Law, Levy spent years in criminal litigation before serving two terms as the District Attorney of Putnam County, New York. Unlike his mother—who presided as a New York City Family Court judge from 1982 until the mid-1990s—Levy’s judicial experience stems primarily from television arbitration.
Levy previously co-hosted Amazon Prime Video’s three-judge panel series Tribunal Justice, another creation of Sheindlin’s Queen Bee Productions. Adam’s Law represents his first solo effort in syndication.
In promotional footage released by CBS Media Ventures, Sheindlin praised her son’s legal acumen and sharp recall while acknowledging the competitive family dynamic:
